Voices of Experience: Video on How WIOA is Inspiring Innovation Locally

About

This video features eight practitioners who took part in ETA’s Customer-Centered Design Challenge, learning through an online course and receiving one-on-one intensive coaching in how to use “design thinking” principles as they redesign their services under WIOA.

They share their insights about this approach, noting that WIOA is calling upon the workforce development system to be creative and innovative and that the customer-centered design approach is enabling them to fulfill that mandate.

Participants include Susan Snelick, Chair, Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association; Kevin Woods, Executive Director, Workforce Innovation Network, Memphis, Tennessee; Pamela Streich, Director of Strategic Planning and Project Management, North Central Workforce Development Board, Pennsylvania; Carla Calhoun, Deputy Director, Community Services and Employment Training, Visalia, California; Riccardo Cardova, Workforce Development Specialist, San Bernardino County, California; Monica Servin, Employment Program Representative, San Bernardino, California; Jennie Campos Bautista, Business Services Program Manager, Workforce Investment Board, Tulare County, California; and Diana Eddins-Wiggin, Adult-DW Case Manager Supervisor, Georgia Mountains Regional Committee, Gainesville, Georgia.
